Arsenal vs Watford Preview

Punters have a busy midweek ahead in the English Premier League, with the majority of action going on Tuesday evening, the final day of January. Arsenal have endured a tough winter so far, but will be keen to draw a line under it with a home win.
They get the chance when entertaining city rivals Watford from 7.45pm in a match bookmakers have marked down as a strong local win, for obvious reasons. We know there’s value to be had for those willing to work for it however. Follow our betting tips and match predictions.

Team News – Arsenal

Arsenal find themselves second in the Premier League going in to round 23, but they are a massive eight points off the pace set by current leaders Chelsea. They aren’t expected to turn that around and win the league either.
Arsene Wenger’s troops were last seen smashing Southampton 5-0 on Saturday in the FA Cup Fourth Round, and with The Saints bagging a place in the EFL Cup Final, that must go down as an astonishing result. The Gunners were widely-tipped to win, but the margin of victory was just ridiculous, and shows, once again, what they are capable of on their day.
Welbeck scored two while Walcott rattled in a hat-trick and Arsenal fans will be hoping that the English attacker can return to the kind of form he was showing earlier in the season, and that we all know he is capable of. Wenger called it a dynamic display in his post-match media chat, he thought his side were consistent in every area of the park, for the full 90-minutes. He would be a happy man if they were to perform like that every week, and fourth officials could sleep easy in their beds.
Arsenal to build on that morale boosting cup win with another positive result has been priced up at 2/9 favourite with William Hill and, I suppose, that kind of reaction from the odds compilers was to be expected.

Team News – Watford

Watford can be found down in 14th-place in the top-flight, which isn’t a bad standing for a side with their long-term ambitions. They put up a record of six wins and six draws against 10 defeats, but haven’t won a league game since 10th December.
That’s a run of seven matches, with that last positive coming over Everton, which has worked out to be very good form indeed, given The Toffees recent showings. Since then The Hornets have lost to Man City, Sunderland, Tottenham and Stoke, while drawing vs Palace, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth.
Three of those four defeats saw the visitors fail to find the net and they have been chalked up at 10/11 with William Hill to draw another blank. That must be given serious consideration when piecing together your betting tips. If you have an away day upset as the best of your predictions, then Betfair will reward you with a market best price of 14/1. The draw is at 6/1 with Betfair.

Arsenal vs Watford – Premier League Betting Predictions

Arsenal are easy to stick with in this match. They are at home, against a side from the lower-half of the division, and enter with confidence sky-high. We can’t have the match win in our betting tips however, the price doesn’t allow it, so, instead, I’ll go Arsenal win to nil at even money with Bet Victor as the standout of my predictions. Watford’s failure to score in those recent defeats makes that one simple to pick out.
In the correct score market and a 2-0 win gets my attention at 6/1 with William Hill. Bookies have that at the head of the betting, and for good reason too. Wenger and his boys would surely accept the outcome before kick-off, and they beat Palace by that very score recently.
