Former Inter striker Antonio Cassano has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo will never reach the heights Lionel Messi, Michael Jordan, or Rodger Federer have in their respective careers.

Antonio spoke to Sky Sport Italia about Ronaldo, Real Madrid, his chaotic career, and the many wasted opportunities he had as a player.

Cassano shared his opinion on the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ debate, and picked Messi above Ronaldo. Furthermore, he believes CR7 will never reach the Argentine’s level.

“I do not deny that Cristiano Ronaldo is a total champion, but he will never be at the level of Leo Messi,” the Italian said.

“It is the truth and there is no need to be offended. Messi has talent based on mother nature. I will always choose him above from Ronaldo. Cristiano Ronaldo is something built, Leo Messi is Michael Jordan, he is Roger Federer, he is Diego Maradona. He is something that we will never see again in our lives.”

Cassano went on to admit how he could have been one of the best players of all time if he didn’t throw away the multiple chances that were offered to him.

“I am the greatest talent to have thrown everything away in recent years, because I really did throw myself away,” Cassano added.

“It’s one thing to change, another to not want to train, insult everyone and start arguments from morning till night. The ‘wild genius who breaks the rules’ thing only goes so far, and I really did cross the line too many times. I’ve improved now and it’s above all thanks to my wife. I’m so proud to have her by my side.”

Cassano shot to fame at Bari, then bonded with Francesco Totti at Roma before his ill-fated move to Real Madrid in January 2006.
