Arsenal continue their USA pre-season tour with a trip to California to face Mexico giants Chivas Guadalajara on Sunday.

Arsenal eased past MLS All-Stars with a comfortable 2-1 victory at San Jose on Thursday as they quest to make a mark in the upcoming 2016/17 Premier League season with a home opener against Liverpool on August 14.

Chivas who are currently playing in the Liga MX Apetrtura, will use the game to prepare adequately for their league and other related domestic campaign in the fresh season.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions, The North London club are yet to be defeated in the pre-season. They are coming on the back of Thursday’s 2-1 win over MLS All-Stars and 1-1 against Lens in France a fortnight ago. Arsene Wenger’s team have scored 10 goals and conceded four from these last five games.

Chivas have played just four games in their domestic league chalking three points from possible six with a win and a loss. They are currently eighth on the log in 2016/17 Liga MX Apertura. Another two games have been in the COPA MX Apertura achieving same results as the League with five scored goals and allowed seven in all last five matches in all competitions.

Chivas Guadalajara have no major injury concerns and are expected to name their best squad for this game.


Arsenal will miss the likes Luarent Koscienly, Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey; who are still on holidays after representing their respective countries in the just ended Euro 2016 staged in France. While the youngster Takuma Asano is also part of Japan U23 team at the Rio Olympic 2016.

Per Mertesacker, Sanchez Alexis and Gabriel Paulista are also out due to injuries. The new signings Rob Holding and Granit Xhaka are likely to get a start following an impressive displays in Thursday 2-1 win over MLS All-Stars.
