Fresh from a stalemate in El Clasico, Santiago Solari’s Real Madrid come into another fierce derby looking for a win to help get their season back on track.

These two Madrid giants couldn’t be separated at the Bernabeu back in September but victory at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium would see Real leapfrog their Madrid rivals into second place.

Atletico Madrid are unbeaten at home to their neighbours since November 2016, but haven’t beaten them in the league since the February of that same year. And they head into the game on the back of a defeat to Real Betis that ended a 19-game unbeaten run for Diego Simeone’s men.

Real Madrid ’s best run of form this season came after the departure of Julen Lopategui, as Solari won his first four games to earn a three-year contract at Los Blancos. His side have won their last three in the league, scoring nine goals in the process.
