FC Bayern München has extended Adrian Fein’s contract, which was due to expire in 2021, until June 30th, 2023. The 20-year-old played for SSV Jahn Regensburg on loan last season before joining Hamburger SV in the second division.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić said: “Adrian has gained a lot of match practice in Bundesliga 2 over the last one and a half years, making a lot of progress in his development. We’re convinced of his potential, so we’ve bound him to FC Bayern over the long term.”

Adrian Fein commented after inking the contract: “I was born in Munich, I spent many years of my youth at FC Bayern, so I’m very happy I could extend my contract. The time at Hamburger SV is very important for me. I can gain match practice and make progress.”

Fein joined FC Bayern in 2006 and played for all of the German record champions’ youth teams. The defensive midfielder has started for Hamburg, lying second in Bundesliga 2, in 19 out of 20 competitive matches so far this season, playing a crucial role in their success. Fein has made three appearances for the Germany U-21s so far, scoring one goal.
