Bayern began their preparations for Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Mainz with two groups in training on Tuesday morning. While one set of players had an endurance performance assessment in the performance center, the rest formed a small group of 10 out on the pitch, including new signings Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Persic, and Michael Cuisance, as well Jerome Boateng following his illness.

On the other hand, Leon Goretzka had a slightly less strenuous session. The 24-year-old Germany international is in fitness training after a bruised thigh and worked alone out on the pitches with fitness coach Peter Schlösser. Fiete Arpalso missed out on Tuesday because of illness.
