The Coach lost his debut on the Blues bench, 2-0 to Rapid Vienna, just days after taking over.

“Today’s game was very difficult, because we have had some very hard training sessions with strength and tactical aspects,” he said in a Press conference.

“But I don’t like to lose, and this is the same for my players. We can learn a lot from this. Our fans were in the stadium and I want to see my fans happy. We want to come back and compete for the title.”

Today Chelsea also announced a deal to sign midfielder Kante from Leicester City for a reported £32m, but that’s not the end of their spending spree.

“I want to say that Kante was a target, and for this reason I am very happy that the club have bought this player. He is a good player with great technique and stamina. If you want to win, you need this type of player.

“Me and the club identified this player. I think that Kante can give a lot to Chelsea. He’s very important to us.

“We know what this team needs. Me and the club are on the same line. We know what to do to improve this team.

“We prefer to wait and take the right player, rather than take a player with emotion.”

There are reports Cuadrado wants to make his Juventus loan spell permanent this summer.

“Cuadrado is a Chelsea player and I am waiting for him. I’m very happy to have him, he’s a player I wanted at Juventus,” noted Conte.
