Europe’s domestic leagues have made it clear to UEFA that they wish to finish their seasons by the end of July.


The common desire is to complete domestic seasons where possible and avoid situations like the one in the Netherlands,

where sport and the Eredivisie have been cancelled until September.On Wednesday, representatives from the European leagues met with UEFA via videocall to tell them that they want to continue no later than July 31.

That proposal would leave August free to complete the Champions League and Europa League competitions.UEFA are planning to hold the Europa League final on August 26 and the Champions League final on August 29.

There are 17 matches left to play in the Champions League, with 27 fixtures remaining in the Europa League.An official decision on scheduling and how to determine European qualification for teams in leagues that have been cancelled will be taken on Thursday.
