Ivan Rakitic has once again come out to speak about his Barcelona future by claiming that he might be at the club for a longer time.

Rakitic has been vocal about lack of game time at the club but in his latest interview with Croatian Outlet T Portal, he already sat down the club’s officials and admitted that he had no plans of leaving Camp Nou.

“I’m convinced that I’ll stay at Barcelona. 2 weeks ago, I contacted the club and we agreed that there’s nothing to talk about because I still have a contract with Barcelona and my wife and kids are happy here. I just want to enjoy and be happy. That comes by winning titles with Barcelona,” he said.

The Croatia international is approaching the final 12 months of his contract with the Spanish giants after making 299 appearances for the Blaugrana across all competitions.

This season, Rakitic has featured in 30 games this term but out of those, only 14 have come from the starting lineup but is yet to get a goal with only four assists to his name during that period.

His place at the team was tampered with by the arrival of Dutch sensation Frenkie de Jong from Ajax with the manager preferring Arthur as his replacement in midfield.

Rakitic will hope that he will be part of the team when they resume Laliga with a tie against Mallorca this weekend.
