Hasan Salihamidžić, FC Bayern board member for sport: “Fiete Arp came to FC Bayern as one of the biggest German talents. He’d made his first Bundesliga appearances for Hamburger SV and performed very well for Germany at the U17 World Cup. Unfortunately, expectations are sometimes not fulfilled, we discussed our options at length with Fiete and in the end we were all agreed that it’s best for Fiete to pursue a new path. We wish him luck and every success for the new challenge.”
Arp celebrated one German championship and one DFB Cup win with Bayern, as well as winning the third division title with the FC Bayern reserves, for whom he scored eight goals in 42 appearances in all competitions. He already spent last season on loan at Holstein Kiel.
