Manchester City will be able to rely on the services of the Premier League’s best playmaker for a further four years after it was confirmed Kevin De Bruyne had renewed his contract.

The Belgian has signed a two-year extension to his previous deal, meaning City fans will be able to marvel at the majestic midfielder until the summer of 2025.

“A very significant moment for this football club’ was how Director of Football Txiki Begiristain described the news and a quick glance at De Bruyne’s stats reinforces the fact that one of the best players in the world has committed his future to City.

The 29-year-old has proven himself to be the most prolific creator of goals in the English game since he arrived at the Etihad Stadium in 2015, topping the charts in the key categories by which playmakers are measured.

Since making his debut in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, he has provided more assists and created more chances than anyone else in the Premier League.
