The opening ceremony has not even begun and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has its first world record. Kim Woojin, an archer from the Republic of Korea, scored 700 with 72 arrows in the men’s individual ranking round at Sambodromo on Friday (5 August) morning. “I practised more than everyone else and I gave my best for the entire round,” Kim told the Olympic News Service after his stunning start to the competition. “Tomorrow there is a more important match. In terms of celebrating today, nothing – I want to focus on tomorrow’s match. “I want to focus on the Games now but later, maybe, I’ll get to enjoy Brazil.”
