MILAN – Upon his return to the Suning Training Centre, Lautaro Martinez spoke to Inter TV after completing his first day back at training: “I’m really happy because I’m back in training. I benefited from a few days holiday to rest and enjoy myself. Now, I’m here with my teammates and we’re preparing for this season in the best way possible.”


The Argentine attacker recently enjoyed a positive experience at the Copa America, notably scoring a fantastic back-heel against Venezuela: “It was a fantastic experience. I’m pleased with how it went on a personal level ,but as I said before I’m now only focused on Inter and giving my all for this club. I hope that we can achieve some important things this season.”

As for the current Nerazzurri squad and working with Antonio Conte, Lautaro added: “It’s really turning into a great group, also with the new Coach. This is really important because to achieve great things you need to train hard. We’re ready to give our absolute all to reach the goals that we’ve set ourselves. Today I had the chance to speak with Conte but we’ve already chatted over the phone about four or five times. He’s extremely focused and I’m pleased to be here with a squad that wants to do well.”

Lastly, he also discussed the team’s upcoming clash agains Tottenham Hotspur in the International Champions Cup: “I’ve eager to get back out on the pitch. I want to play, We’re working hard this week and then we’ll see what the Coach decides and where he wants me to play.”
