Robert Lewandowski is on the final shortlist for the position awards of the past Champions League season in the striker category. FC Bayern’s top scorer has the chance to retain his title.


As well as the reigning the Best FIFA Men’s Player, the strikers in the running are Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain) and Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund). The winners of the awards will be announced at the Champions League group stage draw on 26 August in Istanbul.

Bayern cleaned up at the position awards for the 2019/20 Champions League season and won three out of four available, with Manuel Neuer (goalkeeper),

Joshua Kimmich (defender) and Lewandowski (striker). In addition, Hansi Flick was named European coach of the year and Lewandowski was named European footballer of the year at last year’s event.
