Liverpool v Burnley betting preview

Liverpool are battling for a place in next season’s Champions League. The Reds currently sit in fourth place in the table although both Arsenal and Manchester United are hot on their heels for a top four finish. The fight for Champions League qualification is a tight one but it’ll be seen as a season of progress if the Merseyside club can manage a top four finish.

Recent form has been shaky to say the least for Jurgen Klopp’s men, particularly on the road where they’ve won just one of their last six in all competitions. At Anfield however, the Reds have beaten top four rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in recent weeks, so they should face few problems in overcoming Burnley this weekend at odds of 2/9 with Ladbrokes.

Burnley supporters will be delighted with the way their team has performed so far this term. When they arrived in the Premier League two seasons ago, the Clarets were relegated in their first season, but having won promotion back to the top tier again, it’s clear that lessons were learnt from that first spell and more improvements have been made on the squad this time around.

The problems for Sean Dyche’s men are quite clear if they’re to push on for a top half finish though. Although at Turf Moor the Clarets have looked practically unbeatable at times this season, away from home they have struggled massively, failing to win any of their away matches and managing only two draws. The away win is priced at 14/1, with Ladbrokes.

Burnley have taken a slightly different approach to their recent away games and have tried to play more on the front foot. We expect the Clarets to find a way past this shaky Liverpool backline, but they’ll struggle cope with the pace and quality of the hosts’ forward players. Liverpool to win and both teams to score is available at 15/8 with Ladbrokes.

Sadio Mane has been a fine signing for Liverpool this term. The Senegalese forward has smashed in 12 goals in his 24 Premier League appearances this term, clearly benefitting from Jurgen Klopp’s tactical approach. The ex-Southampton man has scored three in his last two home matches, so we’re backing him to score again this weekend at odds of 10/11 with William Hill.

Recommended bets:
Liverpool to win and both
Sadio Mane to score at any time
