Defender Marc Guehi has signed a new Chelsea contract having started the season in fine form for our development squad.

The teenager has been an ever-present for Andy Myers’ side, who remain unbeaten after their opening five matches and currently sit top of the Premier League 2 table. Guehi has captained the team from centre-back and helped us rescue a point at Manchester City with a last-minute equaliser.

He was previously involved with the senior side in pre-season, playing the first half against Bohemians in Dublin.

‘I’m really excited and happy to sign a new contract and extend my stay at the club,’ he told the official Chelsea website after putting pen to paper on a new deal that will run until at least 2022. ‘I can now focus completely on my football and try to better myself every day.
