The Croatian has played in 44 matches and has made the second most appearances in the squad.

Luka Modric has already passed the number of matches he played last season. The Croatian started in Vallecas and played his 44th match, one more than the 43 he finished the 2017/18 with. It’s the third highest number of appearances in his seven seasons at Real Madrid, behind the 53 in 2012/13 and the 51 in 2013/14.

Modric has the second most appearances in the squad, tied with Lucas Vázquez. Only Benzema (51) has been involved in more of them. The Croatian midfielder has chipped in with four goals and eight assists so far, making him the Real Madrid player to have set up the most goals this season, beating his personal record in one campaign.
