Neymar may not be allowed to enter the EU even after Ligue 1 resumes, according to a report from AS. The Brazilian escaped France to quarantine himself in Brazil after the COVID-19 pandemic took hold of Europe.

The former Santos star doesn’t have a EU passport as he didn’t apply for it during his time in Spain or France. As a result, he might not be allowed entry to the bloc even when things return to normal.

The reason being, while no-one knows when normal service will resume, everyone is aware of the fact that it will take some time. Even when things start turning normal and EU removes travel restrictions, countries might restrict international air travel for at least a little longer, depending on the circumstances around the globe.

As a result, it is not impossible that football would return before EU opens itself to air travel, which means that Neymar could very well be stuck in Brazil while Paris Saint-Germain resume playing football.

Currently, however, there seems to be no chance that football will resume any time soon since the Covid-19 pandemic is at its peak in Europe. About half of the 10,000 people killed were in Europe as most of the continent is in isolation in a bid to contain the spread of the highly contagious virus.
