Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazil right-back Dani Alves underwent surgery for his anterior cruciate ligament injury in Paris on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain star Dani Alves, who will miss out on the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia because of the injury he picked up as the capital club rounded out its domestic quadruple by winning the Coupe de France, went under the knife in Paris on Tuesday, the club announced on its official website.

A Brazil stalwart who arrived in Paris last summer, Alves “had surgery, performed by the orthopedic surgery team at Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, on his right knee”, the club explained in a communiqué.
