Sterling leaves Man City for Liverpool
Raheem Sterling began his senior career with Liverpool, scoring 23 and assisting 25 in 129 outings for the Reds.

But the promising young talent would depart the Merseyside powerhouse in the summer of 2015.

City are understood to have paid £49m for the winger, who has gone on to enjoy a superb career with the Sky Blues.

The England international has, so far, netted 89 and assisted 72 in 230 outings for Man City whilst also winning a plethora of trophies, including two league titles.

Sterling loves Liverpool
But as per the Liverpool Echo, Sterling’s Liverpool departure was somewhat controversial with the winger refusing to travel on a pre-season tour of the Far East before his big-money move was forced through in July 2015.

As a result, Sterling’s returns to Anfield have always seen him met with some hostility.

Despite this, the Man City standout has stated in a recent interview that he loves Liverpool and when speaking about going back, the 25-year-old remained rather coy by not saying yes or no:

“Would I ever go back to Liverpool? To be honest with you I love Liverpool.

“Don’t get it twisted, they are always in my heart. It’s a team that has done a lot for me growing up so…” As quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

But whilst Sterling seems somewhat open to the idea of returning to Liverpool, it appears some fans do not feel the same way.

The Liverpool Echo put out a poll on Twitter on Tuesday, asking if people would take Sterling back at the club. But a resounding 71% of people who voted said no.
