Match report

Chelsea ended a run of three Premier League matches without a win as second-half goals from Willian and Diego Costa earned them victory over Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

The hosts began brightly against the Londoners, asking questions of a Blues defence that conceded three against Arsenal last week.

Robert Snodgrass’s set-pieces were a threat but Antonio Conte’s side grew into the match after the break and soon after N’Golo Kante shot over the crossbar, Willian’s brilliant curling strike into the top corner gave Chelsea the lead on 61 minutes.

Six minutes later, Nemanja Matic’s run from midfield ended with a blocked shot, which fell to Diego Costa who sent a shot into the same corner as Willian for 2-0.

Chelsea remained in control and although Hull brought Abel Hernandez, Tom Huddlestone and Shaun Maloney off the bench, Mike Phelan’s side could find no way through.
