FRANKFURT- Ahead of Inter’s next UEFA Europa League fixture, Luciano Spalletti held his press conference to discuss the first leg of the Round of 16 tie against Eintracht Frankfurt.

“Our opponents are enjoying a great season, they play good football. They have a lot of quality but we’ll look to be strong tomorrow. We’ll look to give our all to get the best result possible. We must learn from recent experiences so that we have the right intentions on the pitch and so that we can display all of our ability.”

There were further questions on individuals and those players not in the squad. “Icardi? I knew that there was a meeting today, but it’s the day before a very important game which we’re completely focused on so there’s no time to think about anything else. Nainggolan’s absence? It’s never nice to go without a player. I’m even more sorry for the players who can’t be there because they’re not on the list. This is what causes the most regret. It’s always Inter who take to the pitch. Therefore, regardless of who we pick or who’s missing, we need to always show that we’re a strong team.”

“Game management and the will to fight are what make a difference,” Spalletti added. “Being ready for the challenge is what makes you feel like a team and it gives you the right attitude when you come to a difficult place to visit such as this. We want to get back on track. We need to maintain our identity and I expect that we’ll show something extra, something that goes beyond our qualities. We need to pay attention and be balanced at both ends of the pitch because Eintracht always leave two players up ready to hurt you. I expect to see a super performance!”
