Contending clubs Tottenham Hotspur FC (12-2-6, 42 points) and West Bromwich Albion FC (8-7-5, 29 points) are set to face one another at the White Hart Lane on Saturday, Jan. 14 as round 21 of the 2016-2017 Premier League season commences.
Tottenham is on a five-game winning streak after losing to Manchester United back in the middle of last month. The team is currently in the third spot of the English top flight table, tied on points with fourth-running team Manchester City but has a higher goal differential.
The Spurs snapped Chelsea’s 13-game winning run with a 2-0 victory over the Blues on Jan. 4 also at their home field of White Hart Lane, as per The Guardian.
English midfielder Dele Alli, utilized by head coach Mauricio Pochettino as a striker during the match, scored two goals in the 45th+1 and 54th minutes to deny Chelsea a Premier League-record 14th straight win.
The 20-year-old headed in his first goal in the first half injury time before doubling Tottenham’s lead nine minutes into the second half with another header off an assist by Christian Eriksen. It was the third straight game that Alli netted a brace.
Meanwhile, West Brom won its second consecutive game after losing the previous two as the team romped cellar-dwellers Hull City, 3-1, also at their home ground of the Hawthorns on Jan. 2, BBC Sport reported.


Hull City forward Robert Snodgrass opened the scoring in the 21st minute for the Tigers first away goal since October 2016, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage at the break.
However, head coach Tony Pulis’ boys netted three goals in the second half to completely obliterate Hull City’s lead and take over the game.
West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt leveled the count four minutes after the restart before defender Gareth McAuley gave the hosts the lead with a goal in the 62nd. Midfielder James Morrison sealed the win in the 73rd as he directed Hal Robson-Kanu’s cross towards the back of the net.
