“It’s our first away game and we’re up against a very good side, who will make life difficult for us”, commented the boss in his press conference.
Zinedine Zidane addressed the media from Real Madrid City in an online press conference on the eve of Sunday’s clash against Real Sociedad (10pm CET):
“On the back of our last two performances, which were very good overall, we’re going about things in the same way: preparing properly, which is what we’ve been doing. We know that it’s our first away game and we’re up against a really good side, who are doing a marvellous job. They’ll make life difficult for us but we’re keen to put in a good performance”.

“The fact that we have the chance of reclaiming top spot doesn’t change a thing. We’ve got a game, our third match, and we’ve got to continue on in the same vein. We spoke about having 11 cup finals and tomorrow we have another game and we’re preparing for it purely thinking about going all out and giving our all out there on the pitch”.

Personality
“I am who I am. I make the most of everything that comes my way in life and I’m lucky enough to be doing what I enjoy. Not everyone can say that. I can complain, as many do, but that won’t change anything in my role as a coach. I’m really positive in life and then, after you’ve put your all into what you do, things will work as they’re mean to”.

Refereeing
“All I’m worried about and what matters to me is tomorrow’s match. I’ve got my own opinion but I’m not going to share it because they too could have an opinion on me. I’m just thinking about my game, which is what drives all of us on. It’s all about playing the game and that’s it. The referees aren’t favouring us. I’m very direct. That’s all there is to say”.

Asensio
“Marco is here with us. He came on the other day and we’re delighted with what happened but we’ve got to take things one step at a time. We’ve got time and mustn’t go thinking that he has to play every single game. We’ve got to take it slowly and after such a serious injury, we’ve got to go step by step, which is what we and he are doing. We’re taking things slowly”.

Playing behind closed doors away from home
“It can work in your favour or go against you. The players prefer to play in front of the fans. When you play away, the presence of opposing fans is a really good atmosphere to play in. We have to continue doing what we’re doing and be committed and focused. You can struggle in games but the important thing is to always be focused. It’s a special situation and you’ve got to be all the more focused right now”.
