After three days off, FC Bayern started the build-up to the next Bundesliga match away to SC Freiburg on Saturday. Head coach Niko Kovac led the first training session of the week at the Säbener Straße training ground on Tuesday morning with a group of two goalkeepers and 14 outfield players including four youngsters from the reserve team.

Good news for the record champions: Corentin Tolisso completed the majority of the full training session as did his fellow countryman Kingsley Coman. The latter missed last week’s two European qualifiers for France against Moldova (4-1) and Iceland (4-0). Both players left the training ground after an hour before the final practice match.

FCB captain Manuel Neuer and his fellow Germany players plus Robert Lewandowski were rested as they played in European qualifiers on Sunday and were given Tuesday off. James Rodriguez also missed the start of training this week. The playmaker was playing in a friendly at the same time against South Korea in Seoul that Colombia lost 2-1. James was brought on at the start of the second half.

David Alaba also missing due toa muscle problem he picked up in Austria’s European qualifier against Israel (2-4) in Haifa on Sunday. The left back completed an individual session in the Performance Centre in the afternoon.
