Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked after the Carabao Cup semi-final loss to neighbours Manchester City if he will rest Bruno Fernandes for Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup tie.

The Reds will aim to bounce back from Wednesday’s last-four disappointment in one competition by progressing in the other domestic cup, with Watford due at Old Trafford for our third-round tie.

The match with the Championship outfit has been touted as a possible chance for several squad members to get some vital minutes under their belts and the subject of Bruno, who has been so influential since arriving last year and is always keen to play, was brought up at the post-match press conference on Wednesday.
“Well, we go into every game wanting to win, of course we do,” the manager said. “There will be a few changes, of course there will as it’s such a season that we have to.

”We have shown quality when we have had to do that before and we will make a few changes. I will see tomorrow [Thursday] morning who is fit and who is not fit and who is ready to go.

“He wants to play every game, Bruno,” added Ole. “Of course, it’s a long season.

“Let’s see what team we come with on Saturday so I’ll have a chat with him about how he feels.”

One man definitely missing for the visit of the Hornets is Edinson Cavani, who serves the third and final game of his suspension.
