It will take place from 11 June to 11 July 2021 in Argentina and Colombia.

The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) has postponed the 2020 Copa America due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus. The tournament, which was supposed to start next June, has been postponed for one year and will be played from June 11 to July 11, 2021. This 47th edition of the Copa America will take place in Argentina and Colombia.

In its official statement, Conmebol said: “This is an extraordinary measure for an unexpected situation, and therefore responds to the fundamental need to avoid an exponential evolution of the virus; already present in all countries of the member associations of the confederation. It has not been easy to take this decision at Conmebol, but we must always safeguard the health of our athletes and all the players who are part of the great family of South American football. Have no doubt that the oldest national team tournament in the world will return with renewed strength in 2021, ready to once again make the continent and the whole world vibrate with the passion that has always characterised us”.
