The number of deaths in Italy from coronavirus remains relatively stable, with 760 over the last 24 hours, reaching 13,915 in total.
Experts stated over the last few days that the country had reached the peak of this pandemic and was at a plateau, so the numbers of new cases, deaths and people going into intensive care are all stable or dropping.
The lockdown measures have been extended to April 13, at which point we should start to see some easing into Phase 2 of the pandemic response.
There were 760 deaths recorded over the last 24 hours, an increase from the 727 on April 1.
Once again, Lombardy is the centre of the crisis with 367 new deaths.
Another 2,477 have tested positive (total currently 83,049), but 1,431 have been given the all-clear and only 18 more have gone into intensive care.
The total of people in Italy now suffering from COVID-19 symptoms and in hospital are 28,540, with 4,053 of them in intensive care.
Since the pandemic started over a month ago, Italy has seen 115,242 positive tests.
The country has stepped up testing significantly with 38,809 over the last 24 hours alone.
Italy has now performed 581,232 tests for coronavirus.
