Samir Handanovic confesses he’s “not satisfied” after four trophyless seasons at Inter.

The goalkeeper joined the Nerazzurri from Udinese in 2012, but has so far yet to even play in the Champions League.

“It hasn’t gone as expected and I’m not satisfied,” Handanovic said in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“If I said otherwise I’d be lying. I came to a great team like Inter to win, but so far I haven’t succeeded.

“A number of factors haven’t enabled us to get where we wanted. There have been two changes of ownership, many players who have come and then gone, a generation of champions who retired, Coaches who have been replaced and more.

“It takes two or three years working together to form a squad, and when there are so many changes it inevitably takes longer.

“I don’t believe in overnight miracles, it takes years to build a winning foundation.

“The Champions League? I thought I’d be doing it with Inter, but it remains an objective of mine.

“Will I stay? I think so, but you know how football and the transfer market works. I don’t like to make promises.”

Juventus have signed Miralem Pjanic, Dani Alves and Medhi Benatia, will that make them even harder to compete with next season?

“Yes. I don’t want to judge the transfer campaigns of others, but I’ll just say they’ve taken good players after winning the Scudetto last year despite being 15 points behind after 10 games.

“I think the Bianconeri are stronger now than they were 12 months ago.

“Inter always have to aim for the best, but we have to see how the transfer window ends. I wouldn’t sign-on for third place, you never know in football.”
