Real Madrid and Bayern Munich come up against each other once again.
The great European football classic returns, this time, with a place in the Kiev final at stake.
No other match has been played more times in the top European competition.
The teams have meet on 24 occasions with a record of: 11 Whites’ victories, 2 draws and 11 defeats; with 37 goals for and 36 against.

However, if we take a look at the most recent encounters, the record is in favour of Real Madrid. The Whites have recorded five victories against the Germans, the best run in the history of this match up.
The run began with a 2-1 win in the 2012 semi-final.
Two years later, on the road to la Decima, Madrid made it to the Lisbon final after winning 1-0 at home and 4-0 away in a historic game in Munich with braces from Cristiano and Ramos.

The run continued last year in the quarter-finals when Zidane’s team took advantage with a 2-1 victory in the Allianz, before an extra-time win thanks to a Cristiano hat-trick and one from Asensio in the 4-2 win.
That was followed up with victory over Atlético in the semi-final on the way to a la Duodécima victory in Cardiff.

Zinedine Zidane:

addressed the press gathered inside the media room at the Allianz Arena on the eve of his side’s meeting with Bayern Munich (Wednesday, 8:45pm CEST), with the Whites’ boss revealing what the spirit is like within the Real Madrid camp ahead of the Champions League semi-final first-leg encounter: “Bayern are another historic club and we’re keen to put in a big performance. We’re ready and know that we’ll have to dig in, such is the way of things in football”

Heynckes

He’s a coach that I’ve got the utmost respect for because of what he has achieved in the game, both during his time at Real Madrid and at Bayern. I’ve only got good things to say about him but tomorrow we’ll have to put in a big performance against excellent opposition. They’re a good team and a great club. It’ll be a special game”
