Niko Kovac announced in Thursday’s press conference that “regeneration is part of training” this week after two demanding weeks of pre-season. Friday’s session was less exhausting, containing rondo drills and shots. The Bavarians are in for a packed programme. They contest their first friendly of the season on Saturday before departing for the Audi Summer Tour to the US (23 to 30 July) on Monday.
“It’s a great change from training, and we’re really looking forward to it,” the 46-year-old commented on the match against French champions Paris Saint-Germain in Klagenfurt. Besides the pros, numerous youngsters will play. “It’s a friendly, but of course everybody wants to win,” Kovac commented on his expectations.
But above all the Croat wants to see “many things from training.” Judging by the last few weeks, the fans have reason to look forward to great commitment, passion as well as accurate and quick passing combinations.
