The Partenopei look set to let go of Mirko Valdifiori, who is disappointed by the lack of playing time he was awarded last year.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Maurizio Sarri’s team will now need two midfielders coming in, and there are several options.

Zielinski is becoming a serious possibility. While he was being linked quite strongly to Milan, the latter club cannot act on the market until either the sale of Carlos Bacca, or the reaching of a settlement with the new buyers from China, which is being delayed.

Napoli could take advantage of their stasis and swoop in for the 22-year-old, especially as they already have a deal for a €15m sale.

A similar move may be performed for Bologna’s Diawara, who is being sought after by Roma. The player could become a viable option if the Giallorossi wait too long, especially as the Guinean is effectively on strike with his team and wants to get out as quickly as possible.

Finally, Rog is being pursued without considering the moves of any competitor. The Croatian is believed to be Napoli’s number one target, although an offer is not on the table yet.
